Konner Lee

On Monday January 16th 2012 at 12:44 PM we welcomed Konner Lee into our family! He weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz. and was 20 inches long! Kirsten is still the only girl in our family of 6 kiddos!! Momma and angel boy are doing great, and Momma is healing well after her c-section! Walking in to the hospital and KNOWING that I was going to be getting a spinal, cut open, etc.. Let me tell you that is a whole different experience!! And the part I was nervous about, the spinal, ended up being one of the easiest parts! The worst was getting my IV in... Ya, you read that right!! It took 4 tries to get my IV in, by 3 different nurses! The first nurse tried twice, but my veins kept rolling (it was painful), the second went through my vein! Ouch, and then blissfully the third nurse got it in on the first attempt.. By the time they were done, I was shaking and feeling nauseous!!.. Ya, I'll take the spinal in my back over the IV.. LOL... The OR staff and doctor were great! After that the nurses were a little bit incompetent.. The second night I went without pain meds waiting for the nurse to bring them to me.. I finally paged her, but by then I was so uncomfortable.. Poor Tim, woke up to me sobbing in pain.. And believe me it HURTS to cry when you have an incision!!! I had heard such great things about this hospital too, so was rather disappointed.. I am sure if they weren't busy (we actually had a nurse from another floor once) it would have been better.. I can't say it isn't a good hospital because I have only had one baby there.. I will say this tho, out of the three hospital where I have had c-sections (or babies), the best experience was in the little hospital in Peterborough!!
But I will say this, I am just so happy with the gift I got from it all!! My angel boy, Konner Lee!!
My Little Love

I am so in love with him!!
Oh and the story behind his name... Well up until the Saturday before he was born, I thought we had settled on a boy name.. Well Tim says "that has never been a name I really like".. "WHAT?" now he tells me, two days before baby is being born!!! So we go to the hospital with no boy name... He is born "It's a boy!!!!" Hmmm so what are we going to name him? Tim goes to the nursery with baby while I get stiched up... and the name "Connor" pops in his mind.. So he lets me know this, but I like the spelling "Konner" and it was cute so I said, sure!!!! Now he can't say that he never gets to name our babies!! :)
