Can It Really Be?

Have you ever wanted to do something your whole life? When I was around 12 years old one New England summer evening we saw in the sky a glimpse of the Northern Lights. That along with reading books such as "Kavik, the Wolf Dog" put a desire in me to someday visit Alaska. I even dreamed of racing on a dog sled in the Iditarod race! While I no longer want to race miles across the snow with only dogs (although a short ways sounds like great fun) I still would love to visit Alaska and maybe see the Northern Lights. We had planned an Alaskan cruise for our 20th anniversary, which was last year, but alas having a newborn baby changed those plans! We have been talking about it for so long that it almost feels like it's just part of me that will always be there. BUT guess what? Last week we booked a cruise for July to Alaska! I am so excited, but it still seems like such a faraway dream, at times I still can't believe we finally made reservations! .... We probably won't see the Northern Lights as it isn't the best time of year, but hey I will finally get to see some of Alaska which I have been wanting to do for 25 years!!
So Pretty

Beautiful

Who wouldn't want to take a cruise here?

Is there somewhere you have always dreamed of going?

  1. I've done the Alaska cruise 3 times and it's great. I've been up to Alaska about 8 times. Its my favorite place on earth. We may do another cruise this summer! Hopefully we can move there in the next 5 years! What line are you cruising with?

  2. Wow!! Sounds like fun!! :D I haven't lived very long and I don't dare to dream...but I would love to see the lighthouses on the east coast since I've heard they're way taller than the ones we have around here... ;) Not somewhere I've ALWAYS dreamed of going, though...Maybe somewhere with castles...I don't know... :)

  3. Oh, castles, that sounds like fun. Tim says if we like cruising someday we will have to go on a European one and see the castles! ;)
