Cruise Alaska (Part 1)

Where to begin? Well, our cruise was for 7 nights so I think I will break it up a bit in order for it to not be too long! We started out in Seattle, just a 3.5 hour drive for us!! That was great to be able to just drive our car and park it at the terminal. Our ship left port at 4 PM July 25th. Neither of us having been on a cruise before, we were both ready to go!
I'm sure I don't need to say where this is!!
Leaving Seattle

Sunset.. We were heading west in to the sunset..

That day was spent getting an idea of how things work. Muster, signing in for our retreat, and eating in the dining room for the first time. That was a little different than what we are used to. Being seated and having napkins placed on our laps, all the different plates and silverware set just perfectly. We felt a bit out of our element, but thankfully our table crew were great and we made awesome friends!!

Going to sleep for the first time on a cruise ship was actually pretty relaxing. The ship sways just enough to lull you. No wonder babies like to be rocked to sleep!! It was great having a room with a balcony so we could sit out there whenever we wanted and watch the waves go by!!

Trying to capture a picture of killer whales.. You can barely see a sign of them..

Umm... ya, who wouldn't want to be able to sit in privacy and gaze at this majestic beauty?!

Day 2 was a sea day so we explored the ship a bit. Found a perfect spot to relax on the 10th deck. We shared a coffee and Tim had an ice cream cone.

Perfect bubble for the introvert!!

That night was formal night, but we didn't get a good picture as I left the camera in the room and we tried with Tim's phone, but they didn't turn out. Come to find out later, it was zoomed way in! Could have stood in line and had them professionally done, but that's not exactly our cup of tea.. Oh, well...

Day 3 was still spent on the ship, but we cruised up the Tracy Arm Fjord. Talk about a beautiful place!! Wow!! The water is the blue green color you think of when you think of a tropical place. But here there are mountains, glaciers, and large ice floes all around. Simply breathtaking!!!

This ice floe is the size of a house!!!

Standing on our balcony. Tim took the picture from in the room.. Who  could pass this scenery up?!

Excursion boat

Excursion boat picking up the passengers that booked this one.. We were on the 10th deck watching..

God's country!!

And there you have it! The first 3 days of our Alaskan cruise. Hope you enjoyed!! Stay tuned for days 4-8...
